Plot

Robin Gibb has died, Bee Gees lose another piece of its history

The saga of glittering disco music of the '70s /'80s loses another light, a few days after the death of Donna Summer. After a long illness that was exacerbated in recent weeks, died in London at age 62 Robin Gibb, one of three brothers Gibb family formed the famous trio the Bee Gees who lit up the night life of the seventies and eighties. The group debuted in Australia, but became famous in the United Kingdom inextricably linking his name to disco music with songs like "Stayin Alive", "Night Fever" and "How Deep is your Love" the soundtrack of the film "Saturday Night Fever", in 1978 that launched the star of John Travolta. The Bee Gees have sold 200 million records in his career. The surviving older brother Barry, 65, and Maurice's twin brother Robin had died in 2003 in Miami, where the whole family had moved in three years alongside beautiful villas surrounded by palm trees and along the beautiful Bay. A fourth brother, Andy, never entered the Bee Gees but also a musician, born in '58, in '88 it was off to Oxford. The Gibb were from Douglas Isle of Man; were then emigrated to Australia where they were dedicated to the music with a long apprenticeship, until the first successes made them return home.

With over 230 million copies sold (270 if you count the work written and produced for other artists), the Bee Gees are in fifth place among the world's most successful artists. Moreover, (record) in Great Britain have had at least a "number one" in each of the six decades of activity. Only artists to have had 6 consecutive singles in the U.S. charts at number one. Like the Beatles, had five top ten songs simultaneously in the U.S.. The soundtrack of the film "Saturday Night Fever" is the second best-selling album of all time with over 40 million copies sold.

On the Road (French: Sur la route) is a 2012 English-language Brazilian-French-UK-US co-production adventure/drama film adaptation of the Jack Kerouac novel of the same name directed by Walter Salles and starring Sam Riley as Sal Paradise and Garrett Hedlund as Dean Moriarty. It is being executive produced by Francis Ford Coppola. Filming began on August 4, 2010, in Montreal, Canada, with a $25 million budget.
The story is based on the years Kerouac spent travelling the United States in the 1940s with his friend Neal Cassady and several other figures who would go on to fame in their own right, including William S. Burroughs and Allen Ginsberg. The film has been selected to compete for the Palme d'Or at the 2012 Cannes Film Festival.
